Our mission, vision, and the team behind our work

Our Mission

We are a Portuguese non-profit Foundation, registered in Poland, with a mission to support the Portuguese Community living in Poland and to represent Portuguese citizens residing in the Baltic countries, many of whom lack an embassy or official representation. We act as a unifying voice for these communities, strengthening their connection to Portugal.

We promote the Portuguese language and culture in Poland, and share our history, values, and social issues with Polish society. We believe in the power of cultural dialogue and work to strengthen the ties between Portugal and Poland.

Chairman of the Board

He has been living in Poland for over seven years and is currently based in Gdańsk. He is a Senior Technical Consultant in Financial Risk and serves as President of Fundacja Portugalia, promoting unity and Portuguese culture among the Luso-Polish community and in the Baltic States

Vice President

Software engineer based in Gdańsk, with a deep connection to Poland and a passion for helping the Portuguese community feel at home and stay connected

Diogo Sousa

I have lived in Poland for 10 years, having lived in three different cities (Rzeszow, Wroclaw and Warsaw). I am committed to ensuring that the Portuguese diaspora is well represented, thinking of ways to unite both cultures in the most varied aspects.

He has lived in Poland for five years, divided between Wrocław and, currently, Warsaw. He works in the area of ​​sustainability as a consultant. He collaborates with Fundacja Portugalia, promoting coexistence and connection among the Portuguese community in Poland and the Baltic States.

Meet Sofia, Vice President of our Foundation. She has been living in Krakow, Poland since 2020 and deeply values ​​the sense of community and the positive impact that mutual support can have on people’s lives.

Pedro Vilas, born in 1981, originally from Lisbon, moved to Poland in 2017, after 7 years living in London. He works in the financial sector and has a Portuguese-Polish son, Filip

Carlos Atalaia, born in 1989, originally from Tomar, has lived in Krakow since 2016. He works in a bank as a Data Analyst. He has a Portuguese-Polish daughter, Sofia.

Nuno Gonçalves, originally from Grândola, has lived in Poland since 2014 and works in IT. He occasionally dedicates himself to performing and promoting Portuguese music. He speaks fluent Polish
