New Portuguese as a Heritage Language Project for Children Launches in Kraków
Poland

A new project dedicated to teaching Portuguese as a heritage language to children will begin in Kraków on 19 February. The initiative is aimed at Portuguese and Luso-descendant families who wish to maintain their children’s linguistic and cultural connection to the Portuguese language.
Classes will take place at the Podgórze Cultural Centre – Rybitwy Club and will be held every Thursday, organised by age groups to ensure appropriate pedagogical adaptation:
- 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm: children aged 3 to 4
- 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: children aged 5 to 6
- 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm: children aged 7 to 10
This project responds to the growing interest of the Portuguese community in the Kraków metropolitan area in educational initiatives in the Portuguese language.
Registrations and requests for further information can be made directly with the teacher Inês Borges via email:

The initiative is promoted by the Portuguese community living in Kraków, with the support of Fundacja Portugalia and the Instituto Camões in Poland. This is a pilot project, designed to learn from experience, improve the model, and, if possible, expand the classes to other cities in the future.
