Between 5 and 14 September, the Institute of Urban Culture Gdansk organised Kinooceany – Portuguese Film Week, a film series dedicated to Portuguese cinema, in partnership with curators and special guests from Portugal.

The opening of the event featured a screening of the classic “The Green Years” (1963) by Paulo Rocha, accompanied by a talk with Maria João Madeira (Portuguese Cinematheque – Museum of Cinema), who presented an overview of Portuguese cinema to the audience in Gdańsk. During the opening weekend, spectators also had the opportunity to taste the traditional pastéis de nata, prepared by the O.Porto pastry shop from Gdańsk.

In the following days, the programme was further highlighted by the presence of director Susana Nobre, co-founder of the production company Terratreme Filmes, who presented the films “Lisbon–Province” and “Cidade Rabat”. In an interview with the portal Pełna Sala, the filmmaker shared her creative vision and the artistic process that inspires her cinema.

Fundacja Portugalia is proud to have collaborated in this event through photographic coverage and promotion.
