NY Portuguese Short Film Festival comes to Kraków
Poland

Portuguese cinema returns to Poland with a new edition of the NY Portuguese Short Film Festival, taking place on May 7, 2026, at Kino Pod Baranami in Kraków.
Organized by the Arte Institute since 2011, the festival is held simultaneously in New York and Lisbon, showcasing the best of contemporary Portuguese short films worldwide.
The screening features a selection of nine recent short films by a new generation of Portuguese directors, highlighting the diversity of Portugal’s cinema — from fiction and documentary to experimental works.
Among the featured titles are Antes do Nascer da Lua, T-Zero, A Estrutura Imóvel, and Primeiro Encontro, exploring themes such as identity, memory, and human relationships.
More than just a screening, the festival offers a window into modern Portuguese culture — vibrant and innovative.
