Fundacja Portugalia meets with the Embassy of Portugal in Poland
Fundacja Portugalia met this Friday, 4 September, in Warsaw with the Portuguese Ambassador to Poland, Mr Mário Miranda Duarte, and Dr João Lacerda Machado, Head of the Consular Section.
Fundacja Portugalia was represented by Carlos Vasconcelos, President of the Board of Directors, Diogo Sousa, Vice-President, and Pedro Vilas, founder of Fundacja Portugalia.
During the meeting, Fundacja representatives presented the organisation’s work to date, its mission and its main objectives for the future.
The meeting provided an opportunity to present the different areas in which Fundacja Portugalia supports the Portuguese community living in Poland and the Baltic States, as well as its work in promoting the Portuguese language, culture and values and in strengthening ties between Portugal and Poland.
The main challenges and needs of the Portuguese community were also discussed, together with possible areas of cooperation and joint work between Fundacja Portugalia and the Embassy.
Topics discussed included social and legal support, the promotion of the Portuguese language, and the development of future initiatives for the benefit of Portuguese citizens living in the region.
As part of the presentation of the work already carried out, particular attention was also given to legal and practical guidance on matters relating to residence, employment and family law, as well as community events and information resources made available to support those living in Poland.
One of the key points of the meeting was the discussion of possible areas of cooperation between Fundacja Portugalia and the Embassy of Portugal in Poland, with the aim of strengthening support for the Portuguese community and developing future initiatives together.
The meeting was very positive and open, allowing for an exchange of views on the reality of the Portuguese community and on ways to strengthen cooperation and closer ties between the two institutions.
